I’m running SPPS Statistics 17 and am getting a new computer. Does SPSS do better with more RAM or a Faster Chip?
— Patrick Gelderman Apr 10, 12:58 PM #
I would go with more ram over faster chip at this point. The more data SPSS can keep in memory, the faster it will run. Note that 32-bit systems are limited to 3.5gb of available memory, so you won’t benefit by going over 4 with 32bit Windows. Linux (under some conditions) and 64bit Windows running appropriate versions can utilize more memory above the 4gb limit.
